Mr. Bowles is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and more than 13 years’ experience in the structural engineering and design field.

Mr. Bowles’ engineering experience includes a variety of projects located throughout the United States. He has performed structural evaluations including water intrusion/building envelope, roof damage, wind/hail and other weather-related damage as well as structural integrity, earthquake damage, foundation movement, and retaining wall failures. Mr. Bowles has been involved in the assessment of many types of building construction that includes multi-family and single-family residences, worship centers, signage, office buildings, hotels, solar farms, and industrial facilities.

Previously, Mr. Bowles managed and participated in team-based design of commercial, residential and government building projects, such as single and multi-family housing, mid-rise steel structures, light gauge steel framed commercial, low-rise commercial buildings, and single-story concrete podium structures. He provided structural due diligence observations and reports for various types of buildings.

Mr. Bowles’ hands-on engineering experience includes managing/designing residential and commercial projects using all major building materials. He has worked directly with architects to define and incorporate alternative options for clients. He has also participated in the surveying, layout, and construction of roads, bridges, water main and storm sewer pipelines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and concrete pavement.

At EFI Global, Mr. Bowles advises clients, such as insurance carriers, adjusters and lawyers, in the cause and origin of structural damage to help identify the extent of damage and the feasibility of repair versus replacement. He also has experience in construction related failure and damage assessment, code interpretation and compliance, material performance/installation requirements, construction defects, and product failure analysis. Other experience includes expert witness testimony in deposition. Mr. Bowles has developed and presented instructional courses on residential and commercial roof damage assessment, subrogation, earthquake damage, and foundation related damage for insurance adjusters.
