Professional Summary
Mr. Ricchio has over 15 years of experience in structural engineering and evaluation, specializing in forensic investigations, cause and origin investigations, condition assessments, structural analyses of existing buildings, rehabilitation and repair design, construction observations, and construction contract administration. He has evaluated residential, commercial, and industrial buildings following major disasters, including Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Sally, Ida, and Ian, multiple tornadoes, and the 2020 earthquakes in Puerto Rico. He has evaluated hundreds of structures following hail storms, wind storms, floods, vehicle impacts, fires, and lightning strikes.
As the AVP for EFI’s Large/Complex Loss group, Mr. Ricchio manages a team of engineers that respond to losses across the United States and coordinates multi-disciplinary investigations, focusing on first-property insurance claims, liability claims, builder’s risk claims, construction defects, and subrogation.
Mr. Ricchio has been involved in the investigation of some of the most significant structural collapses in recent years, including the Champlain Towers South condominiums in Surfside, Florida, the Indiana State Fair stage collapse, and the Tropicana parking garage collapse in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Prior to joining EFI, Mr. Ricchio worked for a consulting engineering firm where he oversaw multi-million dollar repair projects and performed forensic investigations throughout the United States and overseas.
