Ms. Hoogendoorn has over 500 hours of fire investigation related training that has extended over 8 years of experience as a fire origin and causation investigator working within both the public and private sectors.
Ms. Hoogendoorn has personally investigated or supervised over 300 fire and explosion incidents that have involved commercial and residential properties, vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment. Ms. Hoogendoorn was responsible for investigation possible violations of Federal and state law involving explosives and arson affecting interstate commerce and other fires in which assistance from state and local agencies had been requested. Ms. Hoogendoorn was responsible for collection of evidence from fire and explosives scenes and processing evidence for transmittal to the laboratory. Ms. Hoogendoorn was responsible for case investigations, report preparations, trail preparation, conducting interviews, presenting criminal case reports to a prosecutor, preparing, and serving arrest and search warrants, and when called upon to testify as a government witness.
Ms. Hoogendoorn was also called upon to assist the ATF National Response Team on several occasions to include the 2020 riots in Minneapolis/St. Paul in which approximately 165 fires were investigated.
Ms. Hoogendoorn is a Certified Fire Investigator through the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Association of Fire Investigators and meets the National Board for Fire Service Professional Qualifications of NFPA 1033.
