    Gregory Hoerner is a 20-year veteran of the fire and emergency services. Graduating ‘top recruit’ in the drill tower, he began his career as a firefighter-paramedic and worked his way to the position of Fire Inspector II. His tenure includes experience completing code-compliance inspections, complex fatal fire investigations, expert testimony, and multi-million-dollar new construction plans-review projects.  He has worked the busiest stations and has responded to fires from South Central and Skid Row, to the San Fernando Valley. He is currently studying fire protection engineering at Eastern Kentucky University and has taken a wide range of fire and forensics courses. Growing up the son of a structural engineer he was taught the principals of building design at an early age. He is proficient in CAD drawing, Pyrosim, and FDS computer-fire modeling applications. Greg has prior experience working in the field of automotive and engine repair and attained certification as an ASE Master Mechanic. He is a current member of the California Conference of Arson Investigators, NAFI, IAAI, SFPE, ASTM, and the So Cal Fire Prevention Officers Association. He was recently selected by NFPA to serve as a technical expert on its 704 Standard Committee.
