The Use of Technology and Data for Vehicle Claim Investigations

This course is designed for insurance adjusters and claims professionals who handle claim investigations related to vehicle losses such as, but not limited to accident reconstruction, theft claims, and mechanical failures. As vehicle technology evolves, so do the types of data available for analysis and processing of the claimed loss. This course will provide the audience with a comprehensive understanding of the latest advancements in Event Data Recorders (EDRs) and infotainment systems within modern vehicles. This course will also provide the audience with an overview of the latest technologies used to document vehicles and accident scenes such as lidar, photogrammetry, and drone use. Several examples and case studies are included to illustrate the importance of utilizing newer documentation technology and obtaining data from the vehicles involved in the subject loss.

Storm Damage Assessment of Roofing

This class will provide the student with a qualitative understanding of assessment considerations for the determination of the cause and origin of storm related functional roof damage. The student will be provided with information on the assessment process used to evaluate the performance and condition of a roof, code, and economic considerations. Making Sense of Cracking Up

To teach Field Adjusters and Desk Adjusters about building materials commonly encountered in personal property claims, how to identify common cause(s) of cracks in those building materials and review case studies of insurance claims involving cracks in order to better understand the cause(s) of loss.  Adjusters are routinely presented with claims for damages manifested in the form of cracks. Understanding the properties of various building materials, understanding how building materials respond to various force(s) and how the building materials appear post-event(s) is foundational to understanding the loss cause(s), the magnitude and direction of the cause(s) and the duration of the cause(s).
