Our expertise
In Denmark, our team of experts specializes in building surveys and advice, as well as laboratory analysis conducted at our laboratory in Kolding. In addition, we offer a range of training courses and seminars.
Solutions
Above all, we emphasize professionalism, impartiality and quality in everything we do. We have a strong focus on communicating simply and clearly, both in reports and in meetings with customers and those affected by claims. Our colleagues are equipped with the technology, testing equipment and tools necessary to provide accurate and reliable advice and reporting. We consistently hold ourselves to the same high standards, whether it’s a small project requiring a simple evaluation or a large, comprehensive and thorough investigation.
Building investigations
Our unbiased building surveys and advice reflect our team’s extensive technical and scientific knowledge. We aim to conduct our research and deliver analysis and guidance at the highest professional level, as well as communicate our findings in ways that are understandable and easy to use.
Our extensive building investigation process can be applied to:
- Pre-registration before renovation or purchase/sale
- Determining the extent of damages
- Determining the cause of damages
- Quality assurance of remedial works
- Indoor climate and environmental problems
- Project review
- Vision and judgment
Laboratory analyses
Our laboratory in Kolding in the largest in Northern Europe for studying for mould, fungi and insects.
Our specialists analyze samples within:
- Mould – Mycometer tests, impression samples, tape and material samples for mould analysis
- Fungus/insects – Samples of decomposed wood that can identify fungi or insect species
- Bacteria – Different types of samples for the determination of bacteria types.
- Moisture – Measurement of the moisture content in material samples, e.g. concrete or masonry
- Asbestos – Material samples that can determine the presence of asbestos

Courses
In our training, we strive to provide learners with a fundamental understanding of the subject matter and practical knowledge and experience they can use in their daily work.
Many of our courses are administered in partnership with insurers, housing companies, claim services providers and contractors. We also hold guest lectures at educational institutions and create courses in collaboration with others, such as DI Danish Construction and Property Denmark.

Specialties
We build on Danish tradition when it comes to the clear identification of mould and wood-destroying fungi and insects, but at the same time we ensure the innovative development of the laboratory and up-to-date know-how through cooperation with leading European and Scandinavian research institutes. Transferring knowledge is our strength.
Fungus, insects, wood
Fungi and insects can break down the wood in buildings. Infestations of dry rot and house longhorn beetles can cause extensive damage. We have specialized knowledge about the remediation of fungi and insect damage, as well as about wood as a building material, thatched roofs and foundation piles.
Mould, moisture, indoor air quality
Mould comes from moisture and can develop for many reasons. Even when hidden, excessive levels of mould in a structure can affect indoor air quality. Other factors may also detract from indoor climates. Thorough investigations by experts with specialist knowledge, like those at EFI Global, can be critical to protecting indoor air quality.
Structural engineering
EFI Global is a leading provider of construction, engineering and building consulting services. Our knowledgeable team thoroughly understands the industry and has specialized expertise in materials, building components and investigation methods.
Environmentally sensitive materials
The presence of environmentally sensitive materials (such as PCBs, asbestos and heavy metals) in buildings can affect air quality in residential and commercial spaces. If such materials are discovered during renovation and demolition processes, they must be properly identified and disposed of, and the air quality must be tested for safety. EFI Global’s team of specialists can help.
