Professional Summary
Christopher Carter, P.E., is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Fire & Smoke Damage Technician specializing in forensic evaluation of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings following fire, water, weather, impact, foundation, and other property losses. Since joining EFI Global in 2016, Mr. Carter has investigated a broad range of structural failures and building damage to determine the cause and extent of damage, distinguish recent loss-related damage from long-term deterioration or pre-existing conditions, and develop engineering opinions regarding repairability and scope of repair.
Mr. Carter routinely performs structural evaluations of damaged buildings, develops architectural and structural repair plans, and prepares engineering reports supporting insurance claims, litigation, and property restoration. His experience includes evaluating structural framing, building envelopes, foundations, retaining walls, roofs, and other building systems following fire, vehicle impact, tree impact, moisture intrusion, settlement, earthquake, wind, hail, and other catastrophic events.
Leveraging his Architectural Engineering education from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Mr. Carter integrates structural engineering principles with practical building construction knowledge to develop technically sound, code-compliant repair recommendations for a wide variety of structures. He regularly collaborates with adjusters, contractors, attorneys, property owners, and restoration professionals throughout the claims and repair process.
