Mr. Sullivan served over 25 years as a State Trooper with the Massachusetts State Police. For his last nine years, he was assigned to the Fire and Explosion Investigation Section as a full-time fire investigator. Over the course of that assignment, Mr. Sullivan was involved in the investigation of over 500 fires and explosions. He has experience in the areas of fire investigation, interview and interrogation, juvenile fire setter intervention, evidence collection, and complex scene management.
He was involved in the post-blast investigations surrounding the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. He assisted federal, state, and local investigators at both the finish line scene in Boston and the subsequent shoot-out scene in Watertown, MA.
Mr. Sullivan has been employed as a full-time fire investigator with EFI Global/Unified Investigations and Sciences since 2014. Over that time, he has investigated numerous fires and has been the lead investigator in a large loss explosion scene as well as many multi-million dollar long-term investigations. He has experience in both first party and liability losses.
Mr. Sullivan is a Certified Marine Investigator through the International Association of Marine Investigators. He has extensive training in marine vessel fire and theft investigations. He has a decade of boating experience, owning and maintaining several power boats over that time.
