Mr. Vine was a professional firefighter and fire investigator for 22 years with the Pawtucket Fire Department before retiring in 2012. While on the department he was a member of the City of Pawtucket Fire Arson Task Force and investigated a wide variety of fires including, but not limited to, vehicle fires, marine fires, residential fires, high-rise fires and large loss mill fires.
Mr. Vine has a thorough knowledge of building construction and has worked with the NFPA Life Safety Code and NFPA 101 while serving the City of Pawtucket as an Assistant State Deputy Fire Marshal. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Rhode Island International Association of Arson Investigators.
Mr. Vine has been employed as a fire investigator and evidence technician with EFI Global since 2008 part-time and has now been employed by them full-time since 2012. In his time with EFI Global he has investigated numerous fires as described above and has been the lead investigator in a large loss explosion scene as well as many multi-million dollar long-term investigations. He is HAZWOPER certified enabling him to work on scenes contaminated with hazardous materials.
Mr. Vine is a Certified Marine Investigator through the International Association of Marine Investigators. He has extensive training in marine vessel fire and theft investigations. He has a lifetime of boating experience having owned and maintained both power and sailing vessels, is a past vice and full commodore responsible for the maintenance of club boats and facilities, in addition, is well versed in the construction and systems of power, sail and small commercial vessels.
