Mr. Crede has over thirty-three years of experience in the fire service and thirty years of experience in Fire Origin and Cause Investigations. He has investigated a variety of fires including incendiary, fatalities, and large loss fires as both a public and private sector investigator. Prior to joining EFI Global as a full time fire investigator, he completed a 25 year career with the Pennsylvania State Police serving as a part time Assistant Deputy Fire Marshal and a full time Deputy Fire Marshal. He served as an Assistant Deputy Fire Marshal for the Pennsylvania State Police Troop D Butler barracks from 1992-2000. In 2000 he became a full time Deputy Fire Marshal for the Troop D Butler area. As a full time Deputy Fire Marshal he was responsible for the investigation of fires and explosions in Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Mercer Counties in Western Pennsylvania. In 2001 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal and supervised the Troop D Butler Fire Marshal Unit until his retirement in October 2012. He is a past Fire Chief (18 years) and Life Member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Department in Butler County, Pa. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), The National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), and The Pennsylvania Association of Arson Investigators (PAAI). He has served on the Pennsylvania Association of Arson Investigator’s (PAAI) Board of Directors from 2019-Present. He has been employed as a Senior Fire Investigator with EFI Global from October 1, 2015 to present. On April 1, 2022 he was promoted to District Fire Principal for the Pennsylvania Region in the Northeast District. He oversees and manages the fire teams in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Offices.
As a fire investigator with EFI Global Mr. Crede has investigated over 900 Origin and Cause fire investigations involving both residential and commercial properties. Through EFI Global he has worked for several insurance companies including Travelers, Allstate, AAA, Donegal, QBE, BiBerk, MMG, Lititz Mutual, and The Hartford. In addition to insurance companies, he has also worked for several law firms including The Law Offices of Robert Stutman, White and Williams, Cozen O’Conner, and Deluca Levine.
