Mr. Dewhirst has over 15 years of experience as an environmental geologist. His industry experience includes environmental compliance, due diligence, environmental site assessments, and remediation of impacted soil, groundwater, and soil vapor. He has acted as a direct liaison between clients and governing regulatory agencies to navigate clients through environmental rules and regulations on various types of projects including, but not limited to, soil management for commercial construction and transportation projects, underground storage tank (UST) investigations, and successful regulatory agency closure of remediation projects. He is well versed with cost estimating, project management and implementation, and preparation of project deliverables. During his time as an environmental geologist, Mr. Dewhirst has maintained a strong record regarding environmental health and safety, project management, and a mentor to junior staff. He is competent with site investigations and remediation of petroleum products, chlorinated solvents, vapor intrusion investigations and mitigation techniques, and solid waste remediation.
Mr. Dewhirst also brings five years of geophysical and geotechnical engineering experience from the New England area. He has performed geophysical surveys including, but not limited to UST surveys, Multichannel Analysis of Surface Wave (MASW) surveys, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys, vibration monitoring, remote telemetry, and geotechnical engineering investigations and reports. He has experience on in-situ stabilization of impacted soils and geotechnical material testing performing sieve and proctor analysis of soils, hydrometer analysis of silts, and Atterberg limit analysis of clays.
