Barker har tilsammen over 20 års erfaring med Incendio Service og retshåndhævelse. Heraf har 19 år været direkte inden for efterforskning af brand- og Incendio . Barker er en certificeret Incendio Investigator gennem International Association of Arson Investigators samt en certificeret Incendio Explosion / Vehicle Incendio Investigator gennem National Association of Incendio Investigators. Barker har efterforsket over 1500 brandsteder, som har involveret efterforskning af Incendio brande, tab på flere millioner dollars, komplekse efterforskninger af brandsteder, køretøjsbrande og brande med dødsfald. Barker er i øjeblikket også 2. vicepræsident i North Carolina-afdelingen af International Association of Arson Investigators.
