Mr. Jonas has thirty-nine (39) years of fire service experience, thirty-five (35) of which have been directly associated in the field of fire and explosion incident investigations. Mr. Jonas has conducted in excess of 3,000 origin and cause investigations, which involved either criminal arson investigations, product liability/subrogation cases, multi-million dollar losses, or those with multiple fatalities and serious bodily injury. He has attended and instructed numerous seminars and continued education programs related to Fire Investigation and NFPA 921 for both public and private sector investigators. He is an IAAI Certified Fire Investigator, Pro-Board Certified, Fire Causation Instructor, Certified Hazardous Materials Technician, and a licensed Private Investigator. Mr. Jonas is a former Accelerant Detector Canine Handler and was assigned to The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives National Response Team (NRT) and responded to major incidents throughout the Southeastern United States. Mr. Jonas has qualified and provided expert witness testimony in state and federal courts in the field of origin and cause of fires and accelerant detector canine handling in state and federal courts in North Carolina.
