Mr. King has over 1000 hours of classroom fire investigation training extending over his nearly 35 years of experience as a firefighter and fire origin and cause investigator, working within the fire and law enforcement communities as well as in the private sector. Mr. King was a 10-year committee member on the NFPA 921 Guide for Fire & Explosion Investigations editions 1992, 1995, & 1998.

Mr. King has investigated over three thousand fire and explosion incidents throughout Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and isolated incidents in Kentucky Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma and Washington D.C.  These have included residential buildings, commercial buildings, farm buildings, automobiles, boats, marinas, wildland – urban interface site, farm and heavy equipment. The investigations have included explosion scenes, fatalities, subrogation losses and multi-million-dollar losses.
