Mr. Maggard has over 32 years of consulting experience in forensic geological investigations. He currently serves as the Vice President of Geo Services and he possesses expertise in a variety of areas, including geotechnical/geological and forensic studies for the presence of and potential for sinkhole activity in karst regions. In addition, he provides opinions for studies involving the presence of detrimental soil or geotechnical conditions, which have or may affect existing structures.
His responsibilities include supervising and/or performing forensic investigations for various entities. These investigations are comprised of geotechnical, geophysical and geological studies, and analysis to evaluate the cause of or the potential for ground or structure settlements. Included are field and laboratory testing to enable assessments of subsurface conditions such as buried organic materials, buried debris, shrink-swell clays and sinkhole or solution feature activity. Over Mr. Maggard’s career, he has been involved with over 8,000 of these types of investigations.
Mr. Maggard is also certified by the State of Florida to serve as a Neutral Evaluator on disputed sinkhole insurance claims as part of the alternative dispute resolution program. Since the inception of this state program, he has performed over 300 of these evaluations.
