Mr. Gray has thirty years of experience in Civil and Structural engineering, Geotechnical and Forensic Engineering, Testing and Inspection, Surveying, and Construction Project Management. Richard holds licenses
in eight states and has been certified in several specialty areas. He has conducted over 600 forensic engineering investigations, most of which have involved structural and building envelope (roof coverings, wall cladding,
windows/fenestrations) damage and/or failures. His engineering experience includes root cause studies of structural failures and collapses, landslides, foundation settlement, soil heaving, moisture intrusion, and
condensation, damage assessments related to earthquake, fire, and storm events (hail, wind, snow and ice), vehicular and tree impacts, and wind related wave damage, and has designed permanent repairs for damaged
structures. He has performed water testing and destructive testing of various building assemblies including stucco, concrete and other exterior building envelope materials. Richard investigates a wide range of losses
involving fires, structural failures, roofing and structural framing construction defects, structural and foundation design flaws, personal injury, hail and water related damage, and product failures.
Mr. Gray has directed engineering projects of varying complexities in various Western states, for several state agencies, numerous Federal Refuge, Veterans Administration Hospital, and Air Force Base’s, and for several
sensitive high profile Port Authority and Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) National Security related Airport projects. Capacities served include Geotechnical Engineering Director, Structural Engineering and Land Development Designer, engineering related Surveyor, and as Construction, Contract, and Project Managers.
