Mr. Smiljanich has 28 years of experience in the fire service both in Michigan and Virginia.  He is currently a full time Fire Investigator with EFI Global.  Mr. Smiljanich recently retired from Prince William County where he was a Lieutenant in the fire service assigned to the Fire Marshal’s office.  He was responsible for conducting origin and cause determination, arson investigations, juvenile fire setters as well as explosion and environmental investigations.  Mr. Smiljanich has extensive training in the field of fire origin and cause determination.  Mr. Smiljanich has experience in multiple disciplines of the fire service including structural, vehicle, commercial fire investigations, code enforcement, technical rescue, emergency medical service, and is a hazardous materials technician.  Mr. Smiljanich is Certified Fire Investigator with the vehicle fire endorsement through the International Association of Arson Investigators.  He is also a Certified Fire Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators.
