    Michael is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states throughout the United States and a licensed Structural Engineer in Massachusetts. 

    Michael has over 15 years combined experience in the design and forensic fields. Michael is knowledgeable in researching, analyzing, and interpreting codes and standards for existing buildings and new construction in both residential and commercial applications. He has investigated more than 1,000 structures to determine the cause of damage, including weather, impact, design and construction deficiency damage. Mr. Brown is well versed in the existing building codes and determining the code required repairs for varying types of damage.

    Michael’s design experience includes design of total precast concrete, concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures and their components for both existing and new construction. His design experience also includes assessing and designing building envelope components including cladding and roofing in both existing and new construction.

    In addition to structural damage assessments, Mr. Brown has comprehensive experience with construction defect investigations for various trades spanning excavation contractors, foundations, framers, and roofing contractors.
