He started as a firefighter and spent time as a hazardous materials technician at the operations level; Paramedic; Trainer in the Training Division; Safety committee member; EMS Training Division; Tactical Medic for the Portland Police Bureau Tactical Team. His last ten years was assigned to the Fire Investigation Unit in which he worked as an Oregon DPSST certified Police officer. He retired in May of 2015 and made the move to the Private sector as a Fire investigator. He worked as the fire Investigator Team Lead for the Southwest Region Denver Office. He is currently working as a Senior Fire Investigator in the Boise Field office. He has investigated over 1900 fires in his public and private career.
