Ivan Myers has more than 15 years of experience evaluating work environments, identifying potential occupational and environmental hazards exposures and recommending cost effective solutions to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations. He has performed this function as the Industrial Hygienist / EH&S Compliance Officer / Project Manager for governmental agencies, and for clients in the Construction, General, Hazardous Materials, Manufacturing, and Petrochemical industries. The tasks performed for the various entities included performing hazardous materials, industrial hygiene and ergonomic assessments; indoor air quality, mold, asbestos/lead demolition oversight; and environmental health and safety audits. Additionally, he has participated in, and prepared policies and procedures for Cal-OSHA’s VPP program. In Ivan’s capacity as a Program Manager, he reviewed report findings, provided technical assistance to clients and 12 offices across the country impacting a variety of industries as a part of managing 5 -10 employees.
In his capacity as an Certified Industrial Hygienist during the recent Malibu Fire Response he served as a technical expert/resource on Industrial Hygiene and Safety related issues for hazardous materials, occupational exposure monitoring, asbestos and lead , regulatory compliance, and acted as the Safety Officer within the Incident command structure during hazardous materials emergency response events. During response emergency response events and hazardous waste operations Ivan worked with employers, unions, community-based organizations, consultants, and government agencies to identify safety and industrial hygiene training program needs for a diverse workforce.
Ivan has also been a guest lecturer at California State University Northridge and developed college level course lectures about hazardous materials, hazardous waste operations, applications, and legislation for general education students and Environmental Occupational Health majors. In addition to the academic environment he has also developed and provided technically accurate training and education materials to the crafts, trades and professional staff, for groups from high school graduates to Los Angeles County medical staff.
