Mr. Lemons’ background consists of education/technical training and 29 plus years of professional experience as a fire investigator and inspector.  Mr. Lemons was a Fire Inspector II with the Carson City Fire Department.  Mr. Lemons retired from Carson City Fire Department in 2012.  Since his retirement Mr. Lemons has worked as a fire investigator for private investigative companies.

Before working in the fire service Mr. Lemons was an oilfield electrician, Oilfield welder and an Heating and Air Conditioning Technician.  Mr. Lemons studied and received a certificate of technology in welding and Heating and Air Conditioning.

Mr. Lemons joined Warren Engine Company # 1 in Carson City Nevada, where he earned a certificate as a Fire Fighter I.  Mr. Lemons was the training officer for the volunteer program from 1995 – 2000.  Mr. Lemons oversaw the training of new volunteers as Fire Fighters.  During this time frame Mr. Lemons was supervising live burn fire training, teaching fire behavior to the volunteer students.  Mr. Lemons has also taught fire prevention and fire investigation classes throughout the state of Nevada.  He has also taught and assisted in teaching Wildland Fire Investigation FI210 classes numerous times.  Mr. Lemons has participated in over 100 live fire burns of structures, vehicles and wildland scenarios for training purposes.

Mr. Lemons has had the honor of assisting in scientific experiments on fire behavior.  Including, incipient stage to flashover fire scenarios.  Mr. Lemons has also participated in vehicle fire burns, and live bomb scenarios.  During and after these fire and bomb scenarios he observed and photographed the fire behavior, fire patterns and blast effects adding to his experience in investigating these scenarios.  Mr. Lemons also ignited, observed and photographed more than 90 wildland training fires.

Mr. Lemons has testified as an expert in Fire Cause and Origin, and Fire Code enforcement.  He has investigated over 1,000 fires.
