Underground storage tank removal
Summary:
Our environmental team responded to a request from the General Services Administration (GSA) to determine the size and contents of an underground storage tank (UST) that was no longer in use at a facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. After subsurface investigations, the tank was identified to contain approximately 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel. Prior to removing theUST, our experts submitted required notification forms to the regulatory agency to proceed with the UST removal. Once approved, the nearly 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel were removed and transported to a recycling facility. TheUSTand its associated piping were also removed, cleaned, and scrapped in accordance with regulatory requirements and accepted industry practices. We completed the project by submitting the laboratory analytical results to regulators in the required format, thereby allowing the site to be approved successfully for closure.
