Indoor Air Quality Services During Construction

In June 2014 EFI Global was retained to investigate mold contamination in a new high rise condominium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. During the final stages of construction, three separate HVAC system components in three separate units failed causing water to flow down 10 building levels. The building was 70% occupied by new homeowners, and surface mold growth was starting to become visible in the building common hallway areas.

EFI Global conducted an initial inspection to confirm mold growth, to assess the extent of the impacted areas and, to provide recommendations for remediation. The 3-day investigation was completed using infrared technology and non-intrusive moisture detectors to evaluate 10 common hallways and 90 individual units for mold growth and water impacts. A prompt report included concise area by area findings, observations and steps for remediation.
