Construction

  • Building Codes

This class will provide the licensee with an understanding of building codes and standards used in the local area.  It will also provide information as to what events trigger required code upgrades to existing buildings.  Examples of significant recent changes to the building code will also be presented.

States:  Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas

    CE Credits:  1.0

  • Basic Building Construction for the Adjuster

The students will learn the basic building components of structure from the foundation up to the peak of the roof and how the components are assembled during construction. The familiarization of building construction will give the new adjuster a reverse engineering perspective when analyzing a structure during the field-adjusting phase of the claims process. The knowledge of the integration of the building components will aid the adjuster in the fix or replace decisions during the claims handling process.
