EFI Global Responds to Hurricane Ike

EFI Global mobilized its Catastrophe Response team to Houston, Galveston and various areas throughout Southeast Texas in response to Hurricane Ike. EFI Global?s CAT Team consists of over 70 industrial hygienists, scientists and engineers from EFI Global offices throughout the nation. EFI Global has established two command centers to manage assignments relating to Hurricane Ike. The North Houston office manages engineering related losses and the Southwest Houston office directs environmental efforts.

EFI Global's response began within 24 hours after Hurricane Ike passed through Houston and was supported by team members from the area that had damage and power outages at their own homes. Currently, EFI Global has worked on over 600 storm-related projects involving 80 different clients. Services have included water and moisture studies, mold inspections and remediation, structural evaluations, wind/water assessments, asbestos surveys and roof evaluations. These services have been supported by our in-house microbiology and chemistry laboratories. Several EFI Global offices are also utilized in client management and support roles. Clients have included building owners, insurance companies, commercial real estate firms, healthcare providers and law firms.
